something different

This week I wanted to do something a little different. I wanted to share some verses that I have leaned into throughout different seasons of my life. I’ve learned that relying wholeheartedly on scripture and God's words is the most important and best thing we can do. Relying solely on scripture may not have immediately changed my situation how I wanted, but it has changed my outlook and given me the strength to continue on. It’s not really faith until your plan falls apart and you still choose to follow God.

When I started this blog, I wanted it to be like I was inviting you into my journal. So this week I flipped through my journal and chose the scripture I clung to in desperation. These are the most important words I could write. They come from the most important book, which came from the most important person. Like I said this week's blog is different and very simple, yet it contains some of the most powerful words to ever exist.

I encourage you to read these scriptures. Write them down, and take the time to digest their meaning. Memorize them. Store them in your heart, so that when you need them most, these are the words that fill your mind– leaving no room for the devil to work.

“Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering for He who promised is faithful” Hebrews 10:23

“Jesus replied, ‘You do not know what I am doing, but later you will understand.’” John 13:7

“I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” Psalm 27:13-14 (Notice how “wait for the Lord” is mentioned more than once *wink wink*)

God isn’t a man that he would lie, or a human being that would change his mind. Has he ever spoken & not done it, or promised and not fulfilled it?” Numbers 29:19

Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.” James 1:12

“No unbelief made him waver concerning the promise of God, but he grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God.” Romans 4:20

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead, he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish.” 2 Peter 3:9
